Your Wave

Embraced me

Watching the ocean by the rocks
I saw your wave approaching,
giant, higher than my cliff.

Though scared, I stayed,
both my feet rooted,
my arms wide as I could,
ready to be washed away by you.

Yet, although soaked in you
I remained standing,
embraced in your water,
caressed by the foam,
cleansed inside out.

On my lips I tasted your salt,
in my skin I felt your heat,
in my fingers the energy
and the strength of your spirit.
