A Heartless Expedition
Saturday, May 11, 2002
Her heart ticked differently,
It was mellow but rather riveted
As though it had never been cherished
Except once, a long time ago
Back when she still believed.
She had never known a mother’s love;
No, she wasn’t orphaned at birth
But was sold to a peddler.
At the tender age of seven,
The world had turned against her.
Friends, she had none
Which was understandable
Since everyone she encountered
Seemed to have ulterior motives.
Imploration, to her, seemed absurd.
Nor had she ever adored a boy.
Falling in love wasn’t worth
The heartbreak
That would inevitably occur.
She had to protect her heart for her own sake.
In essence,
Never had she experienced love.
But that was her past
That was her story
Before in it I was cast.

She is a smart one indeed.
Having resisted my pull hitherto
But tonight, I shall love her with all my might
I shall give her a kiss so passionate
It would take her breath away and set her soul alight.
Yours,
Death.
