COMPLEXITY IS INDEPENDENT OF SCALE
Complexity cannot be reduced by zooming out for an overview or focusing in for specificity. Each scale within a system has a structural integrity of its own that feeds upward and downward, rendering each layer not only complex in and of itself, but fractally self-similar with the others. An individual is no less complex than his or her team, organization, or industry.
