Biweekly update 18th June — 2nd July

Welcome aboard, crypto-wanderers! This is our second update on Æternity and they are still amazing. The AE development side has been actively improved. The tech team worked on and released version 0.8.6 of the Base æpp, which is currently in external testing in iOS and Android. AirGap integration for the same device was added, filtering/rendering of transactions in Transaction History view was fixed, the desktop version was improved and other bug fixes and enhancements were made. Moreover, they focused on Stratum (it will be released soon) and state channels. The social activity of Æternity is represented by numerous interviews (their programmer Dmitar Ivanov was interviewed by Developer on Focus, Yanislav Malahov discussed Erlang, tokenization and transforming the world as we know it with Hackernoon), developer calls, articles and the latest episode of BlockchainFromTheBlock podcast featuring Todor Kolev from Comrade Coop. Several meetups and events are planned — you can discuss Libra, the Facebook token with Aeternity team in Berlin tomorrow! The involvement in Æternity community tends to grow — the forum and AE chats are teeming with engaged participants. So far, so good, the number of followers in social networks remains stable. Aexpansions Efforts

  • æpp Manifests

We are working on an aexpansion which will propose a meta data format for æpps listed inside wallets, æpps browsers, decentralized æpps stores, and anywhere else where æpps might be listed. The aexpansion will include proposed fields to be part and take on a manifest format.

Next steps are to prepare the draft for input and gather feedback from all concerned parties

  • Identicons

The Base æpp as well as AirGap use identicons to uniquely identify accounts. We are researching the best identicon format to recommend to wallets displaying æternity accounts and also considering other alternatives for uniquely displaying accounts.

Social encounters

  • A while ago Aeternity asked the AE community to reflect on how blockchain will go mainstream. Find here the winners’ views on what will accelerate crypto’s adoption and what role will aeternity play.

“That can only be achieved through an efficient public blockchain infrastructure, useful documentation and tutorials, and user-friendly applications solving real problems.”
