Antara Framework: Custom Blockchain Supply Chain Solutions
Blockchain supply chain management is rapidly improving the efficiency of global trade. In a global economy that’s becoming more interconnected by the day, blockchain technology offers digital solutions to better ensure the origin, authenticity, and quality of products across various economic sectors.
Komodo is a platform that’s well-positioned to offer blockchain supply chain solutions. With the Antara Framework, Komodo’s toolkit for end-to-end blockchain development, businesses have the ability to compose and deploy a custom supply chain management system. This is true across multiple verticals and blockchain use cases.
Smart Chains, which make up the first layer of Antara, are customizable and modular. Operators of smart chains have complete autonomy to determine their own consensus rules, hashing algorithm, pre-mine supply, block time, block rewards, size and frequency of reductions in block rewards, and privacy settings.
On top of that, Smart Chains are modular, in that they come equipped with the Antara Module library. The desired modules can be activated as needed, like building blocks, while the rest are set aside. Optional modules include tokenization, trustless oracles, a quantum-secure blockchain module, a stablecoin solution, channels for instant micropayments, and much more.
In April 2019, HempCoin (THC) announced its decision to migrate to the Komodo blockchain. HempCoin is using Komodo’s Antara Framework to build and deploy HempTRAC, a blockchain supply chain management solution for tracking and tracing hemp shipments. HempCoin chose Komodo specifically for several reasons.
First, many blockchains require gas fees that add significant operational costs, as additional data is stored on the ledger. Komodo instead uses a feeless solution for on-chain transactions that reduces friction for farmers, distributors, regulators, and other parties interested in adopting HempTRAC.
Finally, Antara Framework gives HempCoin a simple yet feature-rich platform to implement the complex business logic needed to run a seamless and efficient global supply chain.

Komodo’s Role In Building The Decentralized Internet
As mentioned above, Komodo’s AtomicDEX is one prominent example of a decentralized application.
The Komodo Dev Team is also working to build the infrastructure necessary for applications to run more efficiently on the decentralized internet. Komodo Lead Developer jl777 has created a superlight client called nSPV, which enables blockchain transactions to verify much quicker while continuing to maintain a high level of security.
This technology was first introduced in August 2019 and solves many of the limitations of existing solutions (i.e. Electrum SPV). The Komodo team is continuing to develop nSPV and exploring how it can be integrated into existing decentralized applications. Web browser extensions, IoT devices, and blockchain gaming applications are just a few use cases in which this technology could be applied to advance the adoption of Web 3.0.

Development at Komodo happens at breakneck speed so it can change on a week-to-week basis, but here are a few things that the Komodo Team is currently focusing on:
- Improving upon the AtomicDEX. The team is constantly listing new coins, improving the user experience, and integrating new features. The team is also working on a web browser version of AtomicDEX, as well as desktop versions of AtomicDEX for Windows, MacOS, and Linux.
- Creating new features and customization options for Antara Smart Chains.
- Building up the Antara Module library in order to provide third-party projects with more performance boosting options.
- Continuing to improve upon the beta version of the Antara Smart Chain Composer, a web application that lets users customize and launch a sovereign Smart Chain in minutes. Learn how to launch a blockchain with the Antara Composer.
- Integrating more external blockchains to Komodo’s delayed Proof of Work (dPoW) security service network.
- Researching and developing new cutting-edge technologies, such as nSPV ultra-light clients, Adaptive Proof of Work (APoW), a blockchain gaming software development kit, and a dual-daemon technique that connects unique blockchain protocols.

- Hush is an implementation of the Zcash protocol with custom additions, offering a high standard of privacy preserving confidentiality of transaction metadata.
- Hush Messenger and HushList are state of the art private communications leveraging zkSNARKS technology.
- Using dPoW (delayed Proof of Work), making blockchains much more secure and attack resistant at 51%.
- Hush is often one of the most profitable EquiHash coins to mine. Mining is possible with GPU and ASICs. For help, join us on the ‘Mining’ channel of our Discord or connect to a pool.
Verus uses VerusHash 2.1, a new cryptographic hash algorithm allowing mining with x64 CPUs while equalizing GPUs and offering a credible ASIC solution.
With provable 51% hash attack immunity, Verus’ 50% proof of work/50% proof of stake consensus algorithm provides unprecedented blockchain security.
Verus leverages zk-SNARK zero-knowledge proofs in a modified Zcash Sapling fork for optional private addresses that are completely opaque to the outside world.
PirateChain (ARRR) is a 100% private send cryptocurrency. It uses a privacy protocol that cannot be compromised by other users activity on the network. Most privacy coins are riddled with holes created by optional privacy. PirateChain uses ZK-Snarks to shield 100% of the peer to peer transactions on the blockchain making for highly anonymous and private transactions.
KMDLabs finds its origins in the testing conducted on the PoS64 staking algorithm created by jl777 for staking on KMD assetchains.
This algorithm was tested and improved by jl777 and the members of this PoS64 test group. From these experiments the need for a state of the art, dedicated testing platform became very clear.
Testing expanded its scope and STAKED was born. STAKED furthered its experience with incentivized testing while developing and refining the STAKED software over various cluster networks through its seven iterations.

The Einsteinium Foundation’s mission is utilize blockchain technology to generate funds for scientific research.
There are two ways this is accomplished. The first is through a mining tax which creates a pool of funds providing grants to deserving applicants. The second is maintaining a currency which allows for a more transparent and trustful way to support causes. Einsteinium coin is designed to reduce waste and eradicate corruption where it is needed most: charity and politics.
The Einsteinium blockchain is secured by Komodo’s Delayed Proof-of-Work security service.
GameCredits (GAME) is a digital currency based on blockchain. Its purpose is to become a universal currency for 2.6 billion gamers worldwide, to empower both large and small game developers in order to further propel the 100 billion dollar gaming industry, and to accelerate the wide adoption of decentralized cryptocurrencies as a better alternative to government-issued fiats. GameCredits is secured by Komodo’s Delayed Proof-of-Work security service.
Komodo Community Portal Soft Launch
The team are pleased to announce a territorial expansion for the Komodo community. Now, in addition to Discord, you can engage in discussions in a more forum-like environment.
Komodo has one of the most vibrant communities within the blockchain space, and the discussions on Discord are often insightful and inspiring. However, Discord is far from ideal as a platform for these conversations.
The Komodo Community Portal has entered a soft launch period, during which they invite their whole Discord community to try out the portal.
You can start using the portal. There won’t be any “portal reset.” The posts you create will be there also after they have officially launched on February 3rd.
Komodo Community Bounties
They haven’t distributed December community bounties yet. Komodo has saved those up to have a bigger bounty pool for January. They will announce the community award winners in early February.
They will assign a lot more weight for being active on the new Community Portal relative to other community contributions and reward helpful feedback and other useful ideas about portal structure, feature requests, or so forth.
