Biweekly update 18th January — 1st February

This is not financial advice.

During the last two weeks, Shift team made great progress with development. Shift first pair of LOCK and UNLOCK transactions have been successfully signed, broadcast and forged using Shift’s dev network, the first IPFS hash was pinned and successfully added to the Shift. For now, the team has, with the exception of expanding the block format to contain the network statistics requested from the Phoenix storage layer, essentially completed all the work on the blockchain integration. The next development milestone will focus on a Proof-of-Spacetime algorithm. As for social encounters, the team is still fully focused on development, as Shift vice-president Werner Heisenberg mentioned: “The concept of conferences is something for the future”. Shift community grows slowly, social media dynamics shows that it remains virtually unchanged. These weeks the number of subscribers of Shift social media channels slightly decreased. And the last, but not the least — SHIFT has been one of the best gainers of last week.

From Official Discord channel:

Werner Heisenberg (Vice-president / Operations manager) on 1st February 2019:

“Here is a short update on our progress:

We have now, with the exception of expanding the block format to contain the network statistics requested from the Phoenix storage layer, essentially completed all the work on the blockchain integration. This has allowed us to test our software with edge-case scenarios on our development network. This is in order to ensure that the verification process of LOCK/UNLOCK and PIN/UNPIN transactions is reliable before the testnet release. Once this and the block format expansion is done, we’ll be able to announce our release date.”

From Official Ryver chat:

Ralf S (Shift President and Lead Developer) on December 20th 2018:

“Still making progress on the backend every day. But I admit it’s an awful lot of work. We’ve received various request in DM to show something to the public. But it’s mainly code work we’re doing now, no eye candy.
But I guess I can share a bit of what we’re working on right now. I will paste some screens in our Discord channel.
