These digests summarize the progress that we’ve made over the last month. If you’re new to Paradigm, we encourage you to read our documentation portal, and technical introduction article for a more complete summary of the project.

Bonding curve implementation and tooling stabilized

In the last development update, we mentioned we had begun an implementation of a bonding curve contract to facilitate a continuous and fair distribution of our network access and staking token. We’re pleased to announce that this month we completed our implementation of the contract (as an extension to our ERC-20 token) and have completed the necessary tooling to support the new functionality within our client libraries. During our upcoming public testing and after the system is deployed on mainnet, users will be able to buy and sell tokens at any time directly from the token contract by simply locking Ether into the contract. You can read more about the bonding curve implementation here. Expect more details about this system in a coming announcement, along with the publication of the full system source code.

Network client RPC server started and nearing completion

In our June update we gave an update on our Tendermint-based network client, including beginning the implementation of an embedded RPC server, which will provide users access to both full and validator nodes for submitting orders and interfacing with the network. We are happy to announce that the server implementation has progressed to the point of feature completion, and at this point we are putting finishing touches on the server and its supported methods. The RPC server provides methods over WebSockets and a conventional HTTP endpoint, conforming to the JSONRPC 2.0 specification. Be on the lookout for an upcoming announcement about the publication of our codebase, and come help us test out the new API!

Upcoming public betas and test network

As we wrap up our current development cycle and prepare for a series of announcements, we are preparing for a beta launch and public protocol test network. There is still much to be done prior to the kick-off of such a testnet. During this time, we would like to extend an invitation to anyone interested in contributing to the testnet either as a validator or as entities wishing to make markets on the network. We are also recruiting usability testers for our governance and account front-end portals that provide an interface for token holders to participate in curation of the network’s validator set by challenging listings and voting in pending challenges. If you are interested in participating then please reach out directly.
