Biweekly update 9th September — 23rd September

Hey, guys! We don’t have so much to share about the Ambrosus as they still keep working on the sly. In AMB Twitter, we can find an article by Dr. Stefan Meyer, who discussed future development and milestones. The goals are to adapt to the new regulatory environment without compromising the belief in decentralized networks; to support narrowband options that fully comply with existing B2B business processes in order to make it easier for enterprises to utilize AMB-NET; to continue to grow the entrepreneurial aspect of the Ambrosus Ecosystem while also increasing the number of masternodes on the network. With community support, recommendations, and independent community projects, Ambrosus has concentrated on building multiple industry-verticals focused on consumer transparency, connecting the business value chain (consumers to distributors to producers), and even (in the future) for public and government auditing procedures.

Moreover, the team attended The Strike Two Summit to talk about the food industry and how can Ambrusus contribute to its development. The number of subscribers is slightly decreasing; however, the Reddit channel is teeming with community questions for the coming AMA. The AMB project is going to be alright. Subscribe and see!

GitHub metrics
Developer activity (from Coinlib.io)
  1. Hermes Masternodes will remain the key masternode utilised for managing and uploading bundles of data onto the network. The Hermes will function to onboard different projects to the main-network, and to support entrepreneurial initiatives. In addition, the Hermes Masternodes will be combined with an additional crypto-economic model especially designed for the Ambrosus side-chain infrastructure: value will be relayed to the main network by leveraging smart contracts on the side-chain whenever data must be validated.
  2. Among other things there are two important implications to emphasize from these network additions:

A) The developer teams will continue to work on onboarding masternodes to the network, in order to further decentralise and secure all data that is managed. In essence, they are building AMB-NET 3.0 — a network architecture that is industrially prepared for sidechains and widespread adoption across industries. To compliment this, their CTO Igor will be fully designing the new sidechain infrastructure and developing a new crypto-economic model.

B) It is necessary to categorize industry verticals according to the sidechain infrastructure using the best team members to kick off new projects and tools within the Ecosystem. While the CPO Vlad is leading the hardware sidechain infrastructure using their own cutting edge, IoT edge-gateways and integrated systems, the co-founder Angel is leading the shift of the projects by pioneering ChipLess — a wireless, real-time tag and biosensor that is uniquely cost-effective and silicon-free. The InnoLab continues to test, develop and patent new IoT elements guided by Ivan: such elements are strongly focused on integrating IoT and blockchain with computational capabilities on the edge, such as Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence for predictive analytics and field decision making purposes.

The immediate goals of this change are clear:

1) To adapt to the new regulatory environment without compromising the belief in decentralised networks.

2) To support narrowband options that fully comply with existing B2B business processes in order to make it easier for enterprises to utilise AMB-NET.

3) To continue to grow the entrepreneurial aspect of the Ambrosus Ecosystem while also increasing the number of masternodes on the network.

Roadmap

According to Q&A:

At some point between these first two dates, new documentation will be released relating to a unique and fully-functional IoT solution, as well as more detailed insights into the Ambrosus Edge Gateway itself.

The Ambrosus developer team will intensively test Atlases running on the newly updated AMB-NET. Therefore the next one to two weeks will be dedicated to testing the new DMP algorithm on TEST-NET. If that works as desired, a final test will take place on AMB-NET, after which Wave 0 Atlases will go live. If all goes according to plan, Atlases should begin onboarding by the middle of May.

By the end of June, a selection of core components of the Ambrosus Ecosystem involving IoT devices, Edge-Gateways, Hermes Masternodes and communication protocols, as well as the Ambrosus Network with accompanying Atlas and Hermes Masternodes will be fully-operational and functioning. Developers will be able to build robust applications utilizing all of the components of the Ambrosus Ecosystem, while entrepreneurs will possess all of the tools, required documentation, and information on collaborating with Ambrosus, in order to be successful in building and scaling real-world solutions.

Horizon Development

  1. Masternode onboarding will continue at a consistent rate, with new operators being invited to join the test-net before accessing the main network. In the meantime, work will continue on the main-network architecture, the bridge and the explorer as well as with regards to a number of demo applications approaching completion!
  2. Stand by for more updates regarding industrial applications, as well as the long-awaited Ambrosus for Entrepreneurs complete guide!
  3. With a busy schedule for the coming months, the Ambrosus team will continue to post updates for the community as Ambrosus INATBA and the Supply Chain Working Group continue to evolve.
  4. Calls and further meetings are planned in the coming days with both partners from the United States and South America. Preparations are underway for further outreach in Asia.
  5. Further crypto-economic testing, different UI design evaluations, and additional information for Atlas operators via the Ambrosus Explorer.
  6. In the future, focus is devoted to bundle transitions within and between Masternodes on the Network to allow operators to seamlessly upgrade their masternode if they obtain enough Amber.
