Biweekly update 27th February — 13th March
Since February, Ambrosus teams worked fingers to the bone, improving and commiting everything stick to the plan. New solutions and projects introduced, AMB Bridge connecting Ambrosus Main-Net with Ethereum Main-Net has been tested extensively on AMB Dev-Net and AMB Test-Net and is now being prepared for AMB transfers on the AMB Main-Net. Business development is also enhancing, proceeding the goal of technical cooperation with new partners. As an act of unification with community and fans, Ambrosus provides biweekly Question&Answer session, where people ask concerning questions about the development and future plans. Numerous meetups are planned. However, there is a slight decrease in the number of social networks followers. But let us see, progress is “to be continued”.
Development
- According to Ambrosus Progress report, Innovation Labs video series will introduce the people and details behind the most innovative solutions that the lab has been working on for the past year, and also better explain why such technology is truly unique in the current state of the Internet of Things (IoT).
- Furthermore, in the past two weeks the Innovation Laboratory has begun its exploration and development of more technical blockchain solutions for secure IoT: smart contract templates, rapid deployment blockchain and IoT kits, and even designing the framework for managing tokenised assets within industrial processes. While this is only the beginning of a much larger strategic development, the refined focus of the Innovation Laboratory holds promise for more fully developing the blockchain and IoT infrastructure of the Ambrosus Ecosystem.
- AMB Bridge connecting Ambrosus Main-Net with Ethereum Main-Net has been tested extensively on AMB Dev-Net and AMB Test-Net, and is now being prepared for AMB transfers on the AMB Main-Net. See below how the AMB Bridge looks and works:
- Initiation
- Execution
- Verification
- Business development has been both steady and diverse in the past weeks. More specifically, Ambrosus business development has begun discussions with new clients ranging from boutique and artisanal consumer goods, to sustainably-sourced produce, to projects devoted to forestry solutions involving indigenous peoples. In an effort to better expand the scope of possible solutions Ambrosus business development is continuously looking for new, niche, or overlooked markets across the globe.
Social encounters
- Angel Versetti cancelled his speech at @EBIC2019_ . “Glad i was in Vienna for business anyway and only took an extra subway ride. Shame on the organisers for wasting my / my team’s time and lying about “2500 participants”. Saw nobody apart from staff/speakers.”
- Ambrosus featured in the Independent @Independent_ie . In the interview they are discussing our vision, current projects and expansion plans.
- There is a huge problem called Reverse Supply Chain, and the possible solution is presented.
- Ambrosus is proud to be the Founding Member of INATBA, launched by the European Commission @EU_Commission. INATBA — International Association for Trusted Blockchain Applications: bringing blockchain tech to the next stage, offers developers & users of DLT a global forum to interact with regulators & policy makers and bring blockchain technology to the next stage. More info via link.
- Director Kamal Hennou and @ESGI, the first French Blockchain Engineer School hosted AmbrosusAMB with Dr Vlad Trifa & Angel Versetti for a conference/meetup during the ETHCC Blockchain event in Paris. Watch here.
- AMB Community questions from reddit answered in the biweekly Q&A session with the team. ETHParis and ETHCC was great, now ambrosus team is heading to Hong Kong for TOKEN2049. The questions were: What is the short/intermediate/long term plan for the 2% per cent inflation and heartbeat bundles?; Do you work on any presentations or information package, which could be used for general public? In other words, what steps would you recommend, if I want to explain Ambrosus to someone, who has almost no idea what blockchain is?
- Full house at the latest Ambrosus meetup in Tallinn. $AMB is setting out on a global roadshow with Hong Kong, Sydney, Seoul, New York, Zurich, Amsterdam in the next few weeks ahead of the upcoming release.
- Ambrosus CTO Dr Stefan Meyer and Migros Head of IT for SupplyChain Thomas Wunderli presented current solutions and projects at the expert group meeting “Blockchain Technology in Supply Chain Management” hosted by @Migros HQ. A combination of all technologies is needed to solve supply chain problems such as lack of traceability and counterfeits of goods: The basis forms the data collection with IoT devices. Only after a sound data collection, technologies such as blockchain or AI are applied to improve tracking. But blockchain has a second function at Ambrosus: community management. Ambrosus has a large and active community who secures the network, tests new products and brings new ideas all organized around its AMB-Net. Thomas Wunderli from Migros Logistics Transport presented with the same enthusiasm the supply chain tower of Migros. Over the last two years, Migros has implemented a real-time monitoring system that captures everything from processes to transports in their supply chain and augments this with external data sources, e.g. weather reports.

Roadmap
According to Delay in deployment of AMB-NET — Revised Short-Term Roadmap:
A) Technical team revises the code, based on the issues flagged by QA / security audits.
B) Repeated Security Audits are performed.
C) If all security audits indicate full safety, Wave 0 will be onboarded on main-net.
D) If only blockchain security audits indicate full safety, we may consider onboarding Apollos and Atlas nodes, without launching Hermes nodes. In that scenario until Hermes nodes are launched (Hermes are the nodes generating bundles), there may be additional temporary smart contracts deployed that would redistribute block rewards to Atlas nodes in lieu of the missing heartbeat bundles. Hermes nodes would be properly activated within 1–2 months after onboarding of these nodes.
E) Associated product releases (Wallet, Bridge, Explorer, Dashboard) are all dependent on the successful deployment of main-net with external nodes. As such, some of these products are likely to be released on test-net in January (in particular, explorer and dashboard), while the other two would be released jointly with onboarding of external masternodes on main-net, which would require both the bridge and wallet to function.
F) Final edits and tweaks to the technical videos, further research and testing of smart contract based solutions and applications.
G) Deepen discussions with current clients, begin implementation and testing of industrial solutions where applicable, and continue outreach to high-value and niche markets. New team member to join shortly.
