Biweekly update 1st July — 15th July

Hello, guys! Nice to see you in our Ambrosus update again! Not so many news have appeared during the past two weeks, but their Progress update depicts tangible development improvements. Efforts from the past months have begun to pay off specifically with regards to the Ambrosus L1 Sensor, which was tested by a large Korean company. Ambrosus team is aiming to build scalable distributed, community-driven IoT infrastructure, but they also work directly, or via intermediaries and partners, on securing adoption and integration of the infrastructure amongst the corporate and public sector stakeholders, in addition to the wider community, to build a diverse and truly decentralised ecosystem. Moreover, new and more stable updates of bridge validators have been implemented on the product environment. This allows the transaction processing speed to increase, and for less time lost in converting AMBs. Besides, the blockchain core team is currently implementing a number of fundamental changes within the Explorer to make the Atlas node management user-interface (UI) available to Ambrosus node owners in the near future. Ambrosus was proved convenient for enterpreneurs: One of the objectives of Ambrosus is to unleash the creativity and entrepreneurship and to permit anyone anywhere to build new projects and businesses at the intersection of blockchain and IoT. The Ambrosus Smart Pallet was introduced. It is a cutting-edge data collection and management solution characterized by its ability to intelligently monitor products on a pallet in communication with the pallet itself, and even between multiple pallets at the same time. They are moving forward on their roadmap, setting new milestones. Additionaly, Ambrosus team is planning some events and in the coming months of August and September, Ambrosus and ChipLess team members will be touring East Asia. The road to decentralization continues. The number of social media subscribers slightly decreased, but the community is still active — there are a lot of AMB-believers. Let’s believe together with Paradigm!

  • Ambrosus Progress Report: In this special feature, beyond explaining the most recent updates across the Ambrosus Ecosystem, this update will also specifically focus on the open-source innovation stimulated on behalf of the Ambrosus community! From network improvements to significant blockchain and IoT business traction; the past two weeks attest to the continuous growth and expansion of Ambrosus’ unique open-source ecosystem.
  1. New and more stable updates of bridge validators have been implemented on the product environment. This allows the transaction processing speed to increase, and for less time lost in converting AMBs. Ambrosus Bridge.
  2. Newly improved NOP scripts have been successfully performing with the Wave1 users currently on, or on-boarding to the Ambrosus Network. To compliment such scripts, one of the Ambrosus community members also made a detailed and informative guide explaining how to seamlessly onboard to AMB-NET from scratch, including from a droplet setup. A tool AMB-NET masternode operators to onboard and manage their nodes.
  3. The blockchain core team is currently implementing a number of fundamental changes within the Explorer to make the Atlas node management user-interface (UI) available to Ambrosus node owners in the near future.
  4. The Hermes Masternode is a unique blockchain-cloud solution that does not exist outside of the Ambrosus Ecosystem. As the digital link between the cloud, physical world, and blockchain, Hermes allow entrepreneurs to offer the benefits of Ambrosus blockchain and IoT platform, at their own rate!
  5. For all prospective entrepreneurs interested in working with large clients: prepare for the long haul! The fast-growing startup in the Ambrosus Ecosystem estimates in their report that in their experience the minimum time for closing a deal with a prospective company is 18 to 36 weeks. Ambrosus itself has outlined in detail what this process tends to entail.
  6. Ambrosus is always happy to support or reward entrepreneurs in their business leads, and with the clients, they seek to land. As more entrepreneurs begin to build solutions within the Ambrosus Ecosystem, Ambrosus looks forward to helping such ventures succeed! Using Ambrosus open-source code, any entrepreneur can freely launch their own startup or solution and monetize it. One of the objectives of Ambrosus is to unleash the creativity and entrepreneurship and to permit anyone anywhere to build new projects and businesses at the intersection of blockchain and IoT. Check out the GitHub and Dev Portal for more details.
  • Ambrosus is proud to reveal a seminal accomplishment and an original piece of technology to be used across industries on the Ambrosus Network: The Ambrosus Smart Pallet. Importantly, this new and innovative solution is highly customizable on multiple levels:
  1. In relation to how and where different sensor hubs are conjoined to allow for (cost-)effective measure points and data uploads
  2. Even with regards to a new and original private PoA consensus algorithm that enables secure and reliable transactions between the pallets themselves.
  3. In regards to how a customized “network” of sensors can be configured depending on the items to be tracked

The Ambrosus Smart Pallet is a cutting-edge data collection and management solution characterized by its ability to intelligently monitor products on a pallet in communication with the pallet itself, and even between multiple pallets at the same time. More technically, an Ambrosus Gateway is embedded into the center of each pallet while RFID tags or specific temperature sensors are placed on the individual containers. When operable, the sensors or tags monitor the product in question, before sending such a signal to the gateway at the core of the pallet. This data is then sent to a relevant Hermes Masternode connected to the Ambrosus Network.

Overall, the Ambrosus Smart Pallet (ASP) functions for the following purposes:

  1. Product Condition Monitoring: Measurement of temperature and humidity inside of the packages placed upon the smart pallet.
  2. Anti-Counterfeiting Solution: Geolocation and verification of the status of all of the products connected to it; insight into whether any products have been opened or tampered with unexpectedly.
  3. Communication Alert Network: To communicate with other-smart pallets or IoT gateways and automatically send alerts to systems managers or other IT systems in the event of abnormal circumstances.

Roadmap

According to Q&A:

At some point between these first two dates, new documentation will be released relating to a unique and fully-functional IoT solution, as well as more detailed insights into the Ambrosus Edge Gateway itself.

The Ambrosus developer team will intensively test Atlases running on the newly updated AMB-NET. Therefore the next one to two weeks will be dedicated to testing the new DMP algorithm on TEST-NET. If that works as desired, a final test will take place on AMB-NET, after which Wave 0 Atlases will go live. If all goes according to plan, Atlases should begin onboarding by the middle of May.

By the end of June, a selection of core components of the Ambrosus Ecosystem involving IoT devices, Edge-Gateways, Hermes Masternodes and communication protocols, as well as the Ambrosus Network with accompanying Atlas and Hermes Masternodes will be fully-operational and functioning. Developers will be able to build robust applications utilizing all of the components of the Ambrosus Ecosystem, while entrepreneurs will possess all of the tools, required documentation, and information on collaborating with Ambrosus, in order to be successful in building and scaling real-world solutions.

Horizon Development

  1. Masternode onboarding will continue at a consistent rate, with new operators being invited to join the test-net before accessing the main network. In the meantime work will continue on the main-network architecture, the bridge and the explorer as well as with regards to a number of demo applications approaching completion!
  2. Stand by for more updates regarding industrial applications, as well as the long awaited Ambrosus for Entrepreneurs complete guide!
  3. With a busy schedule for the coming months, the Ambrosus team will continue to post updates for the community as Ambrosus INATBA and the Supply Chain Working Group continue to evolve.
  4. Calls and further meetings are planned in the coming days with both partners from the United States and South America. Preparations are underway for further outreach in Asia.
  5. In the future, the developer teams will be focusing especially on optimising operator experience when running a masternode, while also continuing to onboard new masternode operators onto the network.
