Biweekly update 26th August — 9th September

Good afternoon, cryptoworld! Ambrosus update is here to catch your attention for a couple of minutes. They are still silent in social networks; however, the processes inside the project are quite active. In their development update, the team featured the most recent progress from within the Ambrosus Ecosystem, including network updates, new use cases for the Ambrosus Smart Pallet, as well as a massive opportunity for industrially implementing AMB-NET into a real-world scenario. As their network has reached the level of decentralization that few other blockchains can boast, the ecosystem is ripe for new projects and protocols on top of AMB-NET to further expand the adoption of the network. The first major public project is ChipLess, which will be built on top of the AmbrosusAMB & ethereum Open-Source Code. It’s an evolving ecosystem of blockchain-powered tags & tracers made without chips to enable innovative applications and cost-efficiency. Several other projects are currently being shaped up by Ambrosus community members.

Moreover, AMB-NET has created a distributed IoT backbone, on top of which anyone can launch new game-changing projects, protocols, and startups using the opensource code. The team has also been working on a new explorer_worker, as well as node retirement functionality. Previously mentioned designs for revamping the user interface of different dashboards within the Ambrosus Ecosystem are proceeding accordingly. New partnerships are coming. Besides, the Ambrosus technical team would like to remind all Atlas Masternode operators to update their masternodes to the latest version in case they have not done so already. This update enables Atlas operators to transfer and shelter bundles of any Atlas masternode that is retired from now on. Lastly, there is a slight decrease in the number of subscribers among social networks. Let’s wait for future updates!

Only pharma and tobacco, the two prime markets for ChipLess, account for over half a trillion USD in Europe alone, while the penetration of RFID tags in retail is a mere 6%! Learn more.
  1. The Ambrosus Smart Pallet: A Rising Star in the Logistics Industry — Along with a partner company Ambrosus will trace a shipment of durian (Asian fruit) that will be refrigerated from Malaysia to China. From a broader perspective, at this stage, Ambrosus is laying the groundwork for an automated system for the traceability of products. By combining both hardware and software, the solutions provided by Ambrosus are able to encapsulate all of the different dimensions of the data collection process.

2. Tech Update: An Ecosystem at Large

a)The team has been working on a new explorer_worker, as well as node retirement functionality. Previously mentioned designs for revamping the user interface of different dashboards within the Ambrosus Ecosystem are proceeding accordingly.

b)The stack of industrial partner demos continues to develop, with feedback and engagement from the various industrial participants.

Roadmap

According to Q&A:

At some point between these first two dates, new documentation will be released relating to a unique and fully-functional IoT solution, as well as more detailed insights into the Ambrosus Edge Gateway itself.

The Ambrosus developer team will intensively test Atlases running on the newly updated AMB-NET. Therefore the next one to two weeks will be dedicated to testing the new DMP algorithm on TEST-NET. If that works as desired, a final test will take place on AMB-NET, after which Wave 0 Atlases will go live. If all goes according to plan, Atlases should begin onboarding by the middle of May.

By the end of June, a selection of core components of the Ambrosus Ecosystem involving IoT devices, Edge-Gateways, Hermes Masternodes and communication protocols, as well as the Ambrosus Network with accompanying Atlas and Hermes Masternodes will be fully-operational and functioning. Developers will be able to build robust applications utilizing all of the components of the Ambrosus Ecosystem, while entrepreneurs will possess all of the tools, required documentation, and information on collaborating with Ambrosus, in order to be successful in building and scaling real-world solutions.

Horizon Development

  1. Masternode onboarding will continue at a consistent rate, with new operators being invited to join the test-net before accessing the main network. In the meantime, work will continue on the main-network architecture, the bridge and the explorer as well as with regards to a number of demo applications approaching completion!
  2. Stand by for more updates regarding industrial applications, as well as the long-awaited Ambrosus for Entrepreneurs complete guide!
  3. With a busy schedule for the coming months, the Ambrosus team will continue to post updates for the community as Ambrosus INATBA and the Supply Chain Working Group continue to evolve.
  4. Calls and further meetings are planned in the coming days with both partners from the United States and South America. Preparations are underway for further outreach in Asia.
  5. Further crypto-economic testing, different UI design evaluations, and additional information for Atlas operators via the Ambrosus Explorer.
  6. In the future, focus is devoted to bundle transitions within and between Masternodes on the Network to allow operators to seamlessly upgrade their masternode if they obtain enough Amber.

According to the progress update:

New Services for New Consumer Demands

The Ambrosus blockchain can be implemented into existing solutions and bring the power and benefits of this new technology. As a prime example, Ambrosus is currently in negotiations to partner with a new commodities trading platform that has big ambitions, specifically focused on blockchain-based traceability of a multitude of products. Within this sub-service of the platform, one of the first planned projects is to trace almonds coming from the US into Europe. While this initial project would very much operate as an industrial project, its success would position the Ambrosus Ecosystem as the premier blockchain and IoT platform for all future projects developed within the fast-growing platform.
