Datachain has been awarded a grant from the ICF to enable interoperability for the public and permissioned Ethereum blockchains through Inter-Blockchain Communication(IBC). With the funding, Datachain will implement an IBC module called IBC-Solidity.

As for the Cosmos ecosystem news: LikeCoin passed the “Enable IBC “ proposal, and is now sending IBC transactions. The Injective community has voted to enable Cosmos IBC. The community will carry out a major chain upgrade that will allow any Cosmos IBC-based chain to interact with the Injective exchange. As a lead maintainer, the Regen Network engineering team shared a behind-the-scenes look at upgrades to the Cosmos SDK’s release process. Akash Network has been selected by Kava Labs as the preferred distributed cloud hosting solution for the Kava Ecosystem. In-app governance for the Lend and Swap protocols is now live on the Kava App. The Cronos Mainnet with EVM smart contracts is launching on October 19. Review the latest Ecosystem Roadmap to learn what devs are building on Secret Network — and more importantly, what they will be releasing in the coming weeks. Tendermint presented October Codefest, a month-long virtual event to celebrate open source software development and expand the Cosmos community.
How to Participate:
To participate, you need to create and merge at least one pull request between Oct. 1 and Oct. 31, 2021. The pull requests can be made to any GitHub repo in the Tendermint or Cosmos organization or one of the qualifying repos in Featured Projects. Only PRs that align with our project’s Code of Conduct are eligible. Be sure to review the Code of Conduct before starting on your contributions. If a project maintainer reports your pull request as spam or inappropriate behavior you are not eligible to participate.
