Humanode: Mainnet on November 15th, Public sale Wave III сommences, The new Humanode launcher shipped, Regular dev updates are here, Humanode Torch introduced, and more!
Biweekly update vol.34, 5th October — 19th October
TL;DR
Hello to all human nodes! Following our lovely tradition, we are here to provide you with a recap of Humanode’s news and updates for the past two weeks!
First and foremost, the Humanode team announced the date of the mainnet! It is set for November 15th, 2022. With the launch, Humanode is going to be the first network to deploy a crypto-biometric-based Sybil resistance instead of PoS and PoW bringing the proper distribution of validation power to web3. 1 human = 1 node = 1 vote and all nodes are equal. By design, all human nodes will be equal in terms of validation power. In the beginning, the amount of validators is going to be capped at 1000. If you’ve paid close attention to the HMND token distribution you might have noticed that 2% is reserved for mainnet validators. This is a special fund that will bootstrap the functioning of the first 100 human node validators that are going to join. Regardless of the saturation of the network, it will cover the cost of running the nodes for several years to come. There will be no pre-onboarding period. The mainnet will be deployed at a particular time and the human nodes will be able to onboard themselves as they did to any other testnet. Besides the mainnet, the team is also going to launch a canary network, a testnet for the mainnet, and a testnet for the canary network to give tools to build some really creative stuff.
The great news is, the Humanode public sale Wave III is now up and running. It will be open until November 8th, 14:00 UTC, or until all tokens are sold out. All of you who have successfully completed the KYC on Tokensoft are able to participate in the event. So don’t hesitate and join!
During these weeks, Humanode teams worked tirelessly making significant progress with current tasks. The progress was minutely shared in their regular development update. The new Humanode Launcher version shipped, it includes corrected node keys detection logic for the dashboard. Check for updates in the launcher to get this version.
As for the network development, the team backported the telemetry fix to TestNet4, enabled Telemetry at grandpa, and assigned fixed pallet IDs. Considering the Humanode Web App, they added auto-generation typings, updated dependencies, and tagged state integration. Moreover, the Humanode team has been working on the Humanode Web Socket Tunnel. They fixed the connection handling at the client and CI permissions, updated dependencies, added metrics to the server, and improved tunnel route parsing.
Moreover, the team introduced Humanode Torch. For the next few weeks, they will be passing the torch around and inviting you to share your thoughts about Humanode. The team may randomly ask the community a question, such as the recent questions “Why Humanode?” and “What do you like about Humanode?”. The team will select an answer or two per day to be shared with the community. They may randomly pass the torch to somebody in the community too, so if the torch is passed to you, grab the opportunity to speak out and inspire the global Humanode community!
That’s all for today. Join Wave III and stay tuned! More exciting news to come!
Humanode Mainnet
The Humanode team has announced that the long-awaited Humanode mainnet will go live on November 15th.
Overall deployment
• Humanode’s Sybil defense is crypto-biometric based, meaning that there is no PoW or PoS. No changes have been made for the mainnet so Humanode is going to be the first network ever to deploy a consensus safeguarded purely by Proof-of-Uniqueness and Proof-of-Existence of human beings.
• By design all human nodes will be equal in terms of validation power.
• At the beginning there is going to be no DAO, cause it’s something that the team is aiming to build, but Proof-of-Time will already be in place calculating uptime and longevity of nodes validating transactions. Check out this article on Vortex to know where the team is going to build.
• The claim list will be uploaded into the genesis so that all participants of the waves could claim their respective tokens. It is going to be done the very same way as you’ve been doing it on testnet 4. More thorough guides would be provided later.
• Besides the mainnet the team is also going to launch a canary network, a testnet for the mainnet, and a testnet for the canary network to give tools to build some really creative stuff.
• As on Ramiel and Gaghiel consensus mechanism that is utilized is Grandpa + Babe with the hard consistency threshold at 66% + 1, or more specifically a BFT formula of n = 5f + 1, where n — all human nodes and f — malicious nodes.
Validator onboarding
• In the beginning the amount of validators is going to be capped at 1000.
• If you’ve paid close attention to the HMND token distribution you might have noticed 2% reserved for mainnet validators. This is a special fund that will bootstrap the functioning of the first 100 human node validators that are going to join. Regardless of the saturation of the network, it will cover the cost of running the nodes for several years to come.
• There will be no pre-onboarding period. The mainnet will be deployed at a particular time and the human nodes will be able to onboard themselves as they did to any other testnet.
• Note that there is going to be a lag between mainnet deployment and HMND hitting the exchanges so only those who acquired it beforehand would be able to deploy nodes as you need a small fee to bioauthorize your human nodes.
HMND listing
Due to legal boundaries of this very “free” and “decentralized” field, we are all engaged in the team is not yet allowed to publicly disclose the exchanges, but the integration has already begun and Humanode is expecting to hit the ETA the end of November — beginning of December.
Humanode Public Sale
Humanode Wave III Commences
The Humanode Wave III is now up and running for the public. The team needs your support to build the most decentralized network that has ever been created to bring the proper distribution of power to web 3. Are you ready?
To check out how Wave III goes in real-time, the team has prepared some graphs for you:
Wave III will be open until Tuesday, November 8th, 14:00 UTC; or until all tokens are sold out.
All of you who have successfully completed the KYC on Tokensoft will be able to join the event.
Head over to Tokensoft to participate in the event:
Here’s a guide that explains how to participate.
ETH, USDC, and USDT are available as methods for purchase.
Important:
1. Only the addresses whitelisted for Wave I, Wave II, and Wave III and those who were verified on Tokensoft before 2:00 AM UTC, 18th of October can join this event.
2. Multiple transactions with different options are OK as long as you don’t exceed the max purchase.
3. There are 3 options you can choose from. You can buy all 3 options as well.
4. There were no limits for the waves. All tokens were available for purchase on Wave I and Wave II. Those that remained are now available on Wave III.
5. If there are any tokens left after all the waves they will return to the treasury and will be locked for 4 + years.
P.S Also check the list of restricted countries:
Options
The Humanode team tried to approach the price formation by balancing out various risks posed by differences in price, unlock amounts, and cliff-vesting timings. All the options will be available to all the waves.
- Option 1 : 0.1725 | 100% unlocked at TGE
- Option 2 : 0.15 | 30% unlocked at TGE | 70% — 3-month cliff and 3-month vesting
- Option 3 : 0.13 | 20% unlocked at TGE | 80% — 6-month cliff and 6-month vesting
You can find more details here.

Humanode Testnet
Testnet 4 ‘Gaghiel’ is live
After the successful test of Grandpa-enabled Testnet 3 “Ramiel”, the Humanode dev team has been working hard to make the Humanode blockchain technology even better. Testnet 4 “Gaghiel’’ will be focusing on token claims, vesting, and unlocking systems that the team will use to distribute tokens at TGE.
Here’s a hint: since Humanode main goal for Testnet 4 is to test the token claims and vesting period, running a node in testnet 4 isn’t compulsory. However, Gaghiel is open to everyone. If you’d like to run testnet 4, this is specially prepared for you: https://link.humanode.io/testnet4.
