A biweekly update on Layer 2 protocols, 12th June — 26th June

TL;DR

Announcing RetroPGF Round 3: This fall, 30M OP will be distributed to builders, creators, and educators who have provided a positive impact on the Optimism Collective. To commemorate the announcement of RetroPGF Round 3 the team released an open-edition NFT with the help of Decent.xyz. Also, OP Labs published a dev blog post on why more and more projects are choosing to use the modular, Ethereum equivalent, open-source, and MIT-licensed OP Stack codebase. Optimistic Erigon client supports Optimism mainnet. Zora Network for NFTs, optimistic roll-up built on OP stack, live.
Recently Offchain Labs released Arbitrum Orbit DevNet docs and portal. Since the announcement of Arbitrum Orbit DevNet tools going live, there are approximately 46 Arbitrum Orbit DevNet chains on Arbitrum Goerli. Arbitrum sequencer batch posting post-mortem.
Metis implements PARSIQ’s Tsunami API to address blockchain’s biggest data challenges. Moving from Solidity to Cairo: Guiding Devs through the Expansion into Cairo Programming. Starknet Community Call #47 | Starknet Alpha v0.12.0. Twitter Space: Cairo 1.0 with Moody. Scroll hosted its very first Hackathon Recap call. On the technical front, the team parallelized the witness assignment for the circuit row level in some of the zkEVM subcircuits. This upgrade will drastically improve Scroll’s prover efficiency, effectively halving the overall proving time down to approximately 10 minutes. They hosted the third community call for 2023.
