Tezos: An introduction to Marigold — layer 2 scaling, Securitize to tokenize $1B of real estate on Tezos, new experimental features for Tezos node, Tezos blockchain on IOS — part 2

Biweekly update 1st January — 15th February
This is not financial advice
Tezos teams are working separately, but the contribution that every team makes is considerable and in prospect leads to an enormous growth of Tezos. Teznomics episodes, Tezos contracts and TezBridge have been developed during the last two weeks. As for the social encounters, Tezos made a solid amount of work — raised the involvement of Indian blockchain community, cooperation and featuring Zednode, attending Swiss Blockchain School, and upcoming Tez talks. There is a well-defined dialogue with social networks’ audience: new creative poster explaining baking processes, creating different accounts for different aims (for instance, TezosInsider) and opening discussions on reddit. All of the above attracts community, that’s why we can see steady increase in number of subscribers. Again, Tezos is doing well.

Development
25 developers migrated to Nomadic Labs, thats why the number of members there is five times less.
- TezBridge recent dev updates:
1. Add protocol switcher
2. Add local forgeOperation
3. Add local parseOperation
4. Add local data packing function - Check out this piece by Gabriel Alfour for an introduction to Marigold, a layer-2 scaling implementation for Tezos.
- New experimental features for the Tezos node: history modes and snapshots.
- When we first introduced TQ two weeks ago we highlighted our focus on creating open source smart contract tools and other public goods for Tezos. Today, they’d like to share more information about one of our early efforts on that front.
- Tezonomics Episode 2 — Chorus Mobility with Will Vorobev is up! Learn how @ChorusMobility is building vehicle to vehicle payments on Tezos.
- Interacting with the Tezos Blockchain on iOS, Part 2: Tezos Contracts. A smart contract is a powerful tool. Tezos allows for smart contracts, and its domain-specific smart contracting language, Michelson, is designed to more easily allow for formal verification and therefore more secure smart contracts than on other blockchains like Ethereum or EOS and a big selling point of Tezos that tried to learn from the mistakes of Ethereum and make them more secure. This generator aims to make it as simple as possible for Swift developers to interact with smart contracts.
