‘Death in Paradise’: S11.E02. “A Double Bogey”…
Bradley Faircroft, on the golf course, is discovered dead. A voicemail received from the victim’s cell phone suggests the murderer is Connor Faircroft. The murder weapon, a driver, is a golf club. Why would Connor hide the murder weapon in his own locker?
Curiously, despite the voicemail evidence, CCTV footage has Connor nowhere near his brother when the murder happened. How could Connor have been in two places at the same time? “What,” to quote Officer Marlon Pryce, “is the flipity-flip going on?”
Parker, seemingly a golf aficionado, knows a considerable amount about the sport because he brushed up on golf for a trivia night quiz. The police inspector used an entire weekend to learn about the sport. Apparently, referencing trivia night, Parker has only once needed to use his golf knowledge. Parker’s golfing style, if you can call it that, is terrible. Funnily, despite his knowledge, Parker demonstrates he couldn’t hit a golf ball even if he was standing next to it.
No one should be surprised Commissioner Selwyn Patterson is an honourary golf club member. It didn’t surprise Parker when Patterson referenced his membership.
