‘Death in Paradise’: S13.E08. “A Murder in the Skies”…
Leon Lopez’s “A Murder in the Skies”, televised in the British Isles on Sunday, 24 March 2024, serves as the 13th season finale. The episode, feeling appropriate for a season finale, revolves around numerous twists and turns. Many avenues the story takes could not have been seen coming.
The inclusion of a TO BE CONTINUED at the end of the previous instalment was a clear misdirect. The only aspect of the two episodes that tied the season penultimate and season finale episodes is Parker leaving on the aircraft. The episode murders had nothing to do with each other.
Curiously, unfortunately for many Death in Paradise fans, the James Hall written story sees the final appearances of both DS Florence Cassell and DI Neville Parker.
No one likes to see their favourite characters leave a series. This is every bit as much true for Death in Paradise fans as it is with any other series. Cassell and Parker, respectively played by Joséphine Jobert and Ralf Little, are much loved characters.
