The First Son of Mars
The past 24 hours have been an absolutely incredible showing from all our community.

Through our Initial Bonding Event, ParagonsDAO acquired 2,250 Parallel cards, which will make 150 reward-generating parasets for our treasury (once more supply of common/uncommon cards is released, so we can acquire them at a more realistic price).
But that’s not all.
In the midst of the madness, we’ve continued to expand our treasury by adding another of Parallel’s rarest, most valuable cards. That’s right — we’ve adopted a son. Our First Son.
The First Son of Mars depicts the gravestone of the first great leader of the Marcolians — Mars colonists who sought to create the perfect civilization, devoid of their ancestors’ mistakes on Earth. It’s both a representation of Parallel’s historical lore and a subtle reference to Elon Musk, who has a vision of establishing a self-sustaining city on the red planet. It’s also the second rarest playable card in the game (after The Priming), with only five editions.
We’ve agreed to purchase a copy of “The First Son of Mars” card for 100 ETH from Tilt101 for — a member of Yunt Capital (a key founder and seed investor in ParagonsDAO).

“Back in June of 2020, Parallel was in a much different spot. It was a (jury-rigged?) juggernaut in waiting, gaining some popularity but still pretty unknown. The Yunts had luckily seen the potential and had gotten a bunch of us involved and hanging out in the Parallel Discord.
The Breakfast Club (a collection of Parallel fans who join voice chat in the Discord each morning) was just starting to form. Gaming nights on Monday with the gang of Discord members would get a half-dozen to dozen people playing Fall Guys, Call of Duty, Diablo, Among Us and some other games.
With the pandemic-related lockdowns, my family had skipped a few planned vacations, but in June 2020 we finally decided to go on one. It was Call of Duty night while I was on vacation, and I brought my Xbox so I wouldn’t miss it — but I couldn’t get a good enough connection so I didn’t play. Regardless, I always try to get my friends involved in crypto.
I reached out to my buddies (who are in the same gaming clan as me) and explained Parallel’s game nights, and told them they were giving out cards as prizes — like Prime Keys, which were selling for 0.3 ETH at the time. One of my friends was free and loves Call of Duty, so he joined up.
He cleaned up and Parallel gave him a First Son of Mars (FSOM) as a prize. At that time, no one had any idea what the card was or how valuable it would become.
It was then that I learned that FSOM was inspired by Tesla’s Cybertruck and one was reserved for Elon Musk. Elon never accepted it and it ended up being released in the last pack drop.
As I mentioned, my buddy loves Call of Duty. But he does not love crypto. He paid attention to Parallel for a minute but then sold me his card for fair market value at the time. I explained to him the value in waiting, the faith and love that I and the Yunts all have for Parallel. He didn’t see it and just wanted to sell.
I have no doubt that in the coming years I’m going to be looking back at how cheaply I sold this card too. Parallel has barely started and it has such an incredible future still.
The one thing that takes some of the sting out is that while I don’t exclusively own the card anymore, I do get to share ownership with ParagonsDAO. I get to share the card with the community of Paragons and still keep that connection to it. It’s not the same, I’m going to miss this card and I’ll always love the part of Parallel history I’ve been a part of…but I couldn’t think of a better way to part with it.”
