The following article concerns the obscure but fascinating connection between the ancient Egyptian wisdom tradition, the mystery schools of ancient Greece, the work of Plato, and the Greek Hermetic tradition.

This article is part two of a series on the origins of Hermeticism, exploring the relations to ancient Egyptian, ancient Greek, and Gnostic theology, respectively.
