7% of LGBTQIA+ millennials are either already parents or are interested in having children.

But they often pause this decision because of a lack of secure, reliable paid parental leave that recognizes their unique family dynamics. Short term disability, for example, does not provide paid leave for non-birthing parents, already excluding all fathers and all identifying LGBTQIA+ families who welcome children outside of natural childbirth such as through adoption, foster, or surrogacy.

Parento allows employers to remain committed to all employees with an inclusive paid parental leave program that doesn’t have qualifiers or red tape.

If an employee is welcoming a child, they are covered. It’s that simple.

  • Includes all domestic partnerships
  • Includes LGBTQIA+ partners and households
  • Includes adoption and foster parents
  • No red tape
  • No invasive medical or family history required
  • No elimination (waiting) period
  • No effect on employees’ existing PTO or sick days
  • No opt-in, so all employees are covered

Parento empowers employers of all sizes to support diversity, equity and inclusive efforts with a tangible, corporate wide employee enrichment program.
