Paris.rb conf — Why we are proposing daily tickets
Daily ticket have just been introduced for Paris.rb conf. On the ticket section of the conference website, now you have the choice between three tickets. You can select the ‘2-day ticket’, the ‘Thursday ticket’, or the ‘Friday ticket’. We would like to share with you the idea behind this concept.

Experiencing a conference
Participating to a conference is an enriching experience. This is a moment in daily life that lets you focus 100% on a passion. This time lapse starts when you leave your home to go to the conference, and ends when you come back. During this moment, you live the journey to the conference venue, the hotel you stay at, the conference itself, and all of the people you meet having the same passion. There are also meals and parties with these interesting people you just met. In short, everything there is an unusual pleasant rewarding moment.
Then, thanks to what you’ve just learnt, people you’ve just met, new ideas it brought you, or discussions you had, you may have the opportunity to start new projects, and new collaborations. As organizers of Paris.rb conf, we keep this in mind as a leitmotif. We intend to create such event, memorable, and — we hope — the origin of beautiful projects around Ruby. That’s what motivates us doing this conference.

In the meantime, participating to a conference is also an investment. First of all, it’s a personal investment, as it means going away from friends and family for a few days. It’s also a professional investment, because it’s not always easy to be absent. It may slow down current important projects or miss important events. Finally, it’s also a financial investment: it means pay for transportation, accommodation, food, and the conference ticket.
As conference organizers, it’s more difficult to be aware of this second aspect. We work hard for months to be able to propose the best possible experience. We invest our time and energy, knowing exactly why we are doing it. In this context, we forget looking at our event from a participant perspective. Now, we understand that participating to a conference, is also an investment. Therefore, we have the possibility to make that investment easier for everyone.

Trying to provide the most convenient experience, we just implemented a new pricing, segmented into 3 possible tickets.
For people wishing to get the maximum from the conference, and having the possibility to be present for two days, there is the 2-day ticket proposing the full experience at the best price.
For people preferring to select what they are going to see, or not being able to participate to the whole event, we provide the daily ticket at a lower price.
Whatever you choose, this new pricing is still early bird, so don’t wait too long before registering!
