Playwrite at Salisbury grove, Northcote, VIC

A Rambo dress up party five years in the making and it all came down to this evening. Cardboard dynamite, tiki torches and fairy lights filled the backyard, as well as around thirty different Rambo’s, each with their own questionable 80’s mullet.

There were a group of people wandering around costumeless, whom I could only assume to be the five members of Melbourne based indie folk rock outfit, Playwrite.

Huddled in the corner of the back deck, Playwrite were introduced by megaphone and immediately took off into a set of winding, haunting melodies. With beautiful harmonies and soaring vocals, their music is consistently building. A hugely uplifting and captivating performance.
