On the day before we were to fly to Italy, the local Madison, Wisconsin newspaper ran a “fill in the caption” contest due to the annual “Art Fair on the Square” event that was taking place that weekend. It seemed especially appropriate to our pending adventure and the name of our blog. For those of you who are not familiar with what a cheesehead looks like (wedge of yellow swiss cheese), see what is perched on the Mona Lisa’s head.

Use the “comments” feature of this blog to submit your ideas for what you think the caption could be.

Wisconsin State Journal, Sunday, July 10, 2016

This is what Larry submitted, using a Madison, Wisconsin theme:

“I actually prefer this to the David in Under Armour.” (Reader Note: Under Armour is the new provider of athletic gear for the University of Wisconsin sports teams.)

“Leonardo’s notebooks also contain sketches for a prototype of the Wienermobile.” (Reader Note: The Wienermobile is the emblem of Oscar Meyer, a meat-packing company, which was, until recently, headquartered in Madison.)

We’d like to see what captions you come up with, so don’t be shy and let your humor shine!
