Tracking the Crate
June 14, 2016: CRATE UPDATE 1. Our crate safely arrived in the South Carolina warehouse today!! We had last seen it on June 10, 2016, in Milwaukee. Now, the shipping company will arrange for its passage overseas on a container ship. Once the shipping company has confirmation from the shipping line, I will be receiving a notification that includes the shipping line, vessel, voyage, load port, destination port, estimated departure and estimated arrival dates for our crate.
June 21, 2016: CRATE UPDATE 2. Our crate is now in a shipping container and on board the OOCL ASIA vessel, which is part of the NYK Steamship Line. The ship left Charleston on June 19 and is due to arrive in Rotterdam on July 1. Then it will go through customs prior to being trucked down to Parma. July 1, 2016: CRATE UPDATE 3. According to the vessel tracking, the ship has just arrived into the port. Once the container has been taken off of the ship, it will begin the customs clearance process. This can take on average 7–10 business days to be completed. Then the crate will be delivered to Parma. Since we will be arriving ourselves in Parma on July 12, 2016, our crate should be arriving in that timeframe as well. What a relief it will be when we see it again!
