“I consider myself a disciplined, passionate, and persevering person. I am currently studying finance, with this I seek to create a positive impact on people, change paradigms, and discover how things work” — Elias Huarte co-founder of Atrevi, 22 years old.

His passion for the world of entrepreneurship came when he had the opportunity to listen to a talk by Ramon Sanchez, Harvard executive in charge of helping startups to raise resources. In his dialogue, he says the mentality and methodology of entrepreneurship in our country are very different from those other nations such as the United States, Canada, and Australia, which are among the largest entrepreneurial countries in the world; but how day by day Mexico is getting more and more into this culture.

This is how the idea of Atrevi was born. Atrevi is a startup that puts you on the path to accomplish your dreams. It helps you to set economic achievements and reach them in a certain time, it offers you as well a smart savings plan that adapts itself based on your contributions and automatically takes money from your accounts and deposits what´s necessary for your goals. Its focus is on improving the finances of young Mexicans.

During the pandemic, Elias got the spark to do something that would renew the finances of young people in Mexico; that’s when, during a road trip, paying at a payment booth, when he received his change, mostly in coins, he thought of the great idea of improving the mechanisms of money.

In December of last year, their project won second place in the CONDUSEF contest “La Educacion Financiera y la Juventud” where they were granted an economic resource and also had meetings with executives from the Bank of Mexico and the CNBV.

In February of this year, Atrevi’s project is accepted in our NOVA program, “We started meetings with suppliers we needed for Atrevi’s operation such as API’S Open Banking, payment processors, KYC services”.

According to their research, throughout the development of the project, “Most people save money. 42% of respondents save every month and 46% save sometimes. In addition, the monthly savings level of this segment is very attractive, reaching between $2,000 and $8,000” According to their insights on the savings problem and opportunity. “We found that people do not use the right mechanisms to save, as they mainly keep their money at home or in a debit account. Surprisingly we found that the 25 to 35 age category uses investment instruments as the main savings item and that the 35 to 39 age category does use savings accounts.”

In the short term, Atrevi seeks to firm up and close the cycle of the idea to launch the application and reach every individual in Mexico. In the medium term, to be the leading individual finance service in Mexico, both for young people and people in general. Its main objective will be to provide you the necessary tools to achieve your goals, for example, to give you advice on your finances and manage your expenses to achieve a specific goal.

They plan to launch the MVP (mobile application) to further develop the most suitable product for their users. Hoping to have good results, they will base their development on applying improvements and growing their team to publish their application in stores as soon as possible.

Elias, along with co-founders Sebastian Ramirez and Javier Camacho, will revolutionize the way your dreams go from being just that, a wish, to becoming a reality.

“People are capable” Elias Huarte.
