CINTREC: The key for a green Planet in the future
Cintrec is a start-up looking to develop a bioplastic based on nutshell and polylactic acid in pellets presentation. It entered the Nova Orion program this year in its vertical Life Science at the Technology Orion Park.
Cristina Pallares and Arely Jiménez, founders of Cintrec, when carrying out a school project and realizing how concerning climate change and global warming are, decided that a change that generates a positive impact on our planet was necessary. The idea of creating a product that is friendly to the environment arose, and this is why they began to develop the bioplastic based on nutshell, which is an organic waste without use in production, which predominates in Chihuahua.
What motivates them is to help the environment by seeking a change and to be able to sow the seed of a whole new improvement process, to achieve a positive impact worldwide and transmit the importance of caring for our Planet. With the entire process that they have gone through full of learnings and advances since the project was born, Cintrec seeks to improve the quality of life of many people and inspire them to seek more environmentally friendly solutions.
The Nova Orion program has opened many doors for them, has been a key piece for the growth of the project, it has helped the process and progress both in the technical and business areas. It has also helped them to acquire many learnings, both from their personal growth and as entrepreneurs.
Cintrec entered the Race to Rethink Plastic’ of ENACTUS call, which objective is to seek high-impact projects at an international level that try to solve the environmental problem that arises from the production of plastic. There were 176 projects from 21 different countries worldwide that participated, of which Cintrec ranked within the Global Top 12. Currently, Cintrec hopes to classify within the Top 4 and have the opportunity to participate in the ENACTUS WORLD CUP 2021 along with other projects from different countries that are impacting the world, as well as receive mentoring, and be able to compete for up to 25,000 USD of investment in its project.
Cintrec is working to develop a second prototype, to be able from this to produce products with the bioplastic. Its intermediate goal is to buy a pellet-making machine and create a website to make itself known in the community. They have the eye in the future, which is why their long-term goal is to register their brand and do its industrial production.
Cintrec will accomplish its goal and will achieve a positive impact on the environment in the future. Streets, oceans, and seas will be cleaner, companies will be ecologically responsible, the appearance of diseases due to pollution will decrease, quality of human and marine life will improve, but above all, we will have a green and better Planet.
