Melin Mx: Better control for light consumption
Have you ever heard someone say that the electric bill they received was very high or unexpected?
Most people have been through this, but since they lack the tools to understand it, they end up paying for everything just because they have to or because there’s no other option. Melin Mx is the solution to this problem.
Melin refers to a smart electric meter based on the concept of smart homes. It is a device for easy and safe installation in the electrical system of a home. It communicates in real-time to an application on the cell phone that helps to have better control of light consumption. Also, it provides strategies to boost economic savings.
The current situation of the coronavirus pandemic has affected millions of people, due to the increase in energy consumption caused by confinement, which is why there has been an increase in electricity bills in the same way. The economic crisis has left many families in a vulnerable state, struggling with excessive payment for electricity. Sadly millions of Mexicans cannot pay and end up without access to electricity. Melin Mx was created and developed in an empathetic way focusing on all Mexicans who have struggled with this problem.
The project entered the Nova Orión incubation program in the vertical LoT of the Orion Technology Park at the beginning of January of this year, they decided that introducing it in this program was the best decision to commit more to the project and seek good advice.
Technology is often created more for being innovative and eye-catching than for the simple reason of being useful. Although it may not be the most disruptive technology, Merlin is working and developing prototypes to be of use and help but above all to achieve its objective and to be able to make a significant change.
