What makes Parsec Frontiers unique gameplay wise?

The idea of using smart contracts on a grand scale is something we haven’t seen much of yet. It’s a key feature and something we hope the community will use to its full extent.

Different uses of smart contracts in the game.

Our expectation is that guilds will come together in the game and use smart contracts to set up agreements with other guilds. As the game progresses and the value of assets within the game rises we might see lawyers coming into the game to draft certain agreements. On the other hand there will be smaller scale contracts, like in life if you fail to pay your loan there are consequences. In the game if you lease a ship from someone the smart contract will check if you paid the agreed sum every day/month and void the contract if the terms are not met. Returning the ship and whatever else was agreed upon to the original owner.

I’m sure a lot of players will have other ways of utilizing smart contracts but my imagination is limited. If you have better ideas for use of smart contracts or blockchain technology in our game join us on Discord

Parsec Frontiers has an open development, which means that we share much more information than what is typically viewed as standard in game development. For a blockchain game where the network owns the game, we feel this is the way it should be. We also think it is an exciting and more productive way to make games.
