What do you actually have to do to get an episode out there?

If you’re just about to start your own podcast, thinking about starting one but aren’t quite sure or just started your podcast and are feeling lost, this little roadmap might help you navigate the podcasting process.

This is not an in-depth how-to guide, it’s simply a list of steps that it takes just to get one podcast episode out there. At this stage, I’m assuming you’ve come up with your podcast concept and name, created your plan, set up your channels and are ready to start working on your first episode.

But where do you start?

Pre-Production

The Pre-Production stage involves everything that happens before you take the microphones out. The goal here is to ensure that by the time you hit record, you’re ready to capture everything you need to make your episode awesome.

Step 1: Plan your episode

Every episode of your podcast needs to be planned out, but what that plan looks like will depend highly on your personal workflow and how you’ve defined the flow of your podcast.
