Sunrise, FL. — After a much talked about moment at last week’s Florida Panthers game, rapper and South Florida resident, Kodak Black is being hailed as a hero, after saving a friend’s life with the Heimlich Maneuver.

“Everyone who saw that video on the internet got the wrong idea. My friend was choking on an overcooked slider!” Said Mr. Black.

The video, which shows the 24-Year-Old-Rapper gyrating against an unnamed woman in a Panther’s Luxury Box quickly spread across social media. Many thought the couple was having sex, while other viewers were unsure since the video was shot from the opposite side of FLA Live Arena.

The fan who posted the video from the January 11th game against the Vancouver Canucks, took to Twitter, reiterating that Mr. Black performed the lifesaving move. “I can vouch that Kodak Black saved that woman’s life. He was in such a hard situation, and he dug down deep to save the day” The fan tweeted.

Another angle of the video popped up on social media. In this version, Mr. Black and the woman appear to be fully clothed, with the woman pressing up against Mr. Black and her head near the ground. Mr. Black explained, “She was really choking on that slider! By this point, she was about to pass out, so I shifted her upside to thump her from behind, hoping I could dislodge the food that way.”

Local authorities investigated the matter, confirming Black’s heroism. In a statement, Sunrise Police Department stated, “Mr. Black noticed his date choking and acted quickly. While his approach was unorthodox, Mr. Black took matters into his own hands and rose to the occasion. He’s a hero.”

Former Panther Goaltender, Roberto Luongo was also in attendance, taking in the game of his former teams in the luxury box beside Mr. Black’s. “I see didn’t see anything, but I heard some thumping and commotion, and when I looked over Kodak Black was helping this woman to her feet.” Said Mr. Luongo. “If I had those quick reflexes and the moves he has, I’d probably have a Stanley Cup ring.”

As news of his heroism quickly spread, Mr. Black has remained humble. “I was looking forward to watching a great game of hockey, and I did what anybody would do in that situation,” Mr. Black said. “The real heroes are the players on the ice. I love the Panthers, and I’m looking forward to this team going all the way this year!”

At press time, FLA Live Arena safety protocols will be reassessed, and all staff will be required to retake first aid courses.
