The number one seed Green Bay Packers were knocked out of the playoffs by the San Francisco 49ers once again on Saturday, despite the efforts of Chay Thorson, a huge football fan, and even bigger cheesehead. Thorson held a post-game press conference on their IG Live to answer some of the big, tough questions.

“I just don’t know where I went wrong,” said Thorson, “I had my jersey on, I haven’t washed it all season! I used my lucky cup for all my beers. I double checked-nothing I drank or ate was from SF or California.” Thorson explained that these are key concepts to be aware of entering the game, “Some people can miss details like that, but I stay on top of things as best I can, in order to get us that win.”

After going through some week-long superstitious preparations, Thorson was ready for game time, and feeling optimistic.

“I thought for sure we would win. I know I am biased but after the season we had and me not wearing anything red, I figured it was locked in! I guess listening to “Bang the Drum” by Todd Rundgren every morning just wasn’t enough.”

Thorson has helped Green Bay win many games. They recall a moment a few seasons ago that helped send the Packers to the playoffs.
“I was at the local Packers bar, every city’s got one, you know. We were losing and making our way down the field. I started chanting, ‘Go Pack Go’ and soon the whole bar followed my lead. Just then, Rodgers threw a beautiful pass, resulting in a game winning touchdown. Imagine if I hadn’t started that chant going, we would’ve lost the game!”

There are times when Thorson has hurt the team too. They described a scene from earlier this season. “We all remember that game against the Bengals this season where it seemed like nobody couldn’t make a field goal to save their life? Well, I actually wear a Crosby jersey while watching the games and that day, I just rolled out of bed and put the game on. The game was pretty close and of course came down to a field goal in overtime. Luckily, I had realized my mistake at this point, and rushed to put on my jersey, just in time for Mason to hit that game winner. I learned from my mistake that day.”

When asked about what preparations they will go through this offseason, Thorson had this to say: “I am going to have to do some off-season evaluations. What’s working, what isn’t working. If Crosby leaves, who will replace his jersey? I am sure things will come up at the shareholders meeting as well.” Thorson never misses a chance to drop that they own Packers stock into any conversation where it might be even slightly relevant, “I just want to do my part as an owner to make sure we can play at our best next season.”
