Disney’s Frozen princesses are not white. And that makes me happy.

A few weeks ago, my family went to the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim. Disney’s California Adventure was a “must visit”for us because we had heard about the high quality, live production of Frozen at the Hyperion in Hollywood Land and my four-year-old daughter’s obsession with Disney princesses and the Frozen princess sisters, in particular.

Regarding the show itself, the production quality is pretty phenomenal and justifies the cost of your ticket to the park. I’d liken it [the quality] of the show to equivalent or better than Disney’s traveling Broadway productions. (I saw the Lion King at the Lyceum Theater in London back in April 2018, and I thought the shorter production of Frozen to be better.)

However, there was one surprise that I wasn’t expecting.

In the opening scenes, we meet Elsa and Anna and their parents — an African American actor plays their father.
