SECTION — II: Creating Human-Like System: AI is an assistant or a guinea pig?
In the first post of this series, I’ve addressed the question of what it could be the motivation and instrumental rationality in artificial intelligence associated with wisdom and intellectual development in human.
In this section, I’ll try to get your attention to the mechanisms of intelligent human behavior as biologically inspired as taking reference from human emotions to leap at an opportunity on the human-computer symbiosis as to be identified intersection domains.
We know that the studies on artificial intelligence are based on detailed and realistic computer model of the human brain through getting reference its operating methodology as non-linear approaches, our creativity, iterative hypotheses.
It is also known that the endeavors, in simulate human brain like neural networks, deep learning and self-learning algorithms, are too complex to come to an optimal result in a way for which human making decisions, controlling complex situations without the inflexible dependence on predetermined programs.
In fact, it took the universe more than 10 billion years to come existing level of intelligence of human brain. It won’t be easy to build an AI workforce, with human brain simulation, for more a subtle difference business analysis and recommendations to human ingenuity.
Let’s have the courage to imagine some domains of human-computer symbiosis might be leveraged the technology replicating some quite human qualities in business, improving our analytic capabilities and accelerating our own thinking in next 20 years projection. Assuming AI workforce would be getting in performing complex calculations associated with simulation, probability and optimization, we would have some foresights at possible domains, like using AI workforce as a guinea pig or cavy instead of animals for healing chronic illness.
Maybe before this stage, AI workforce can assist a person who has specific disease, which there is no known cure for now, like Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) causes weakness with a wide range of disabilities all muscles under voluntary control are affected, and individuals lose their strength and the ability to move their arms, legs, and body.
Fortunately, Fujitsu Laboratories has been researching and developing Gaze Tracking Technology — can be able to obtain insight about interests, feelings, and inner motives of a person from their eyes. The movements of the eye can tell us much more about a person’s intentions than their words. So we can imagine this technology integrated with AI development can provide a global standard of best-practice multidisciplinary care to help manage the symptoms of the disease and assist people living with ALS to maintain as much independence as possible for as long as possible.
Let’s imagine AI in simulation domain, as you know terrorism is a global problem. Not limited by borders, it can spring up anywhere. To struggle against terrorism also includes identifying the balance between national security and a human being’s fundamental right to privacy. Studies indicate that there is a linkage between terrorism and education is likely to depend on country-specific (macroeconomic, institutional, etc.) conditions to bring about lasting social change and struggle the scourge of terrorism.
Thus, we definitely are going to need unbiased teachers, who may very well be AI workforce, with correct mindset to guide the young generation to respect others as equals regardless of faith, culture or nationality and to live peacefully within a community.
Education no longer depends on time in a classroom teaching so much, with resources being readily available online. We need to mobilize to defeat extremism. And we need to act globally. AI workforce would help us to overcome of this sensitive issue.
Last but not least, referring AI in optimization domain, we can take into account the government in the way of digitization. Governments have to meet citizens and businesses expectations like to be readily available online, easy to find and understand, and at low or no cost government information by investing in a comprehensive public-sector digital transformation.
The increasing complexity of e-Government services demands a correspondingly larger effort for management. Today, many system management tasks, such as service verification and re-configuration due to changes in the law, are often performed manually and barely follow their outcomes in terms of government services. This can be time consuming and error-prone. Also, due to the heterogeneous structure of the public sector, the achievement of interoperability and integration is a key challenge for a comprehensive e-Government.
We can overcome these problems by benefit from AI that enables to have an overview of e-government service configuration model (in terms of workflow, task responsibilities, etc.) and easily re-configure it whenever there is a need due to changes in national legislation.
Therefore, we need to a dynamic approach for semantically composing e-Government services based on AI techniques to improve the citizen centric e-Government vision by providing a platform for automatically discovering, composing and optimizing the services.
As a result in this section of post series, I try to make some assumptions about which domains could be possible usage of AI based on the human-computer symbiosis in the next 20 years.
In the next section of post series, SECTION — III: Quantum Computing, Patterns and Chaos, I am going to mention about what are the possibilities for making connection on emotional level with AI for the realization of artificial intelligence phenomenon. We’ll look at computational intelligence involves development or interactive learning by using empirical data relates to their ability to mimic human thinking. And also I’ll try to explore some of the possible synergies between quantum computing and artificial intelligence.
