I am a pathfinder. Success in my work as a restructuring partner requires innovation. I continually seek new and better solutions; carefully listen, analyze and look forward. I strive to be there with my clients throughout the process — and to see into the future — finding the very best path for them.

As a lead restructuring partner at Orrick, a top-ranked global law firm, I advise financial institutions, lender groups, creditor committees and other parties in the U.S., Europe, Asia and Africa who seek to maximize recovery or reduce exposure. I also work with investors and acquirers of companies.

These leaders need partners who will join them with entrepreneurial enthusiasm, on the front lines, amid the wreckage of situations gone bad. They need partners who can see through the morass of legal and financial distress to find the best strategies for returns and growth. At Orrick, we assess all hurdles, chances for recovery and opportunities to claim unforeseen financial value that lies hidden within the confusion of business and legal challenges.

My mission is to find the best possible path to recover or grow 
my clients’ investments.

I am a leading advocate for diversity and inclusion (D&I) in the legal profession, a creator of programs for women and people of color, and a mentor, sponsor and chairperson of Orrick’s firm-wide, global D&I initiatives.

For me, and for Orrick, D&I is not just the right thing to do. Providing our clients with diverse teams is simply good business: Diverse teams are more creative, collaborative and successful.

I recently completed two terms on Orrick’s 11-member Board of Directors and previously chaired the firm’s Restructuring Group. I am on the Board of Directors of The New York Lawyers for the Public Interest and of The Institute for Inclusion in the Legal Profession, the Board of Legal Advisers for Legal Outreach in New York City, and the Advisory Committee for the 
 Vance Center for International Justice.

I am honored to have been selected as one of Savoy Magazine’s Most Influential Black Lawyers for 2018 and 2015, to receive Legal Outreach’s Pipeline to Diversity 2017 Champion Award and the New York City Bar Association Diversity and Inclusion 2012 Champion Award, and to 
 be named by IFLR1000 Rankings as a leading lawyer in the U.S. I am also honored to have been selected by DirectWomen to be a 2016 Board Institute member. I am a frequent speaker and author on bankruptcy and insolvency and on diversity and inclusion.
