Monica Walters has always loved learning, and her career path shows it. Monica earned her undergraduate degree in human resources and for seven years worked in human resource roles. When she realized she wanted a career change, she decided to pursue an MBA from the University of Phoenix. After graduating she started her own photo booth business and also got a job as the Program Director for CNM Ingenuity — a work training center that is part of Central New Mexico Community College.

Stepping Up to Learn Salesforce

CNM Ingenuity offers Pathstream certificates to staff to help them upskill within their current roles. When Monica heard about The Salesforce Administrator Career certificate she decided to enroll. Because Monica owned her own business and had used smaller Customer Relationship Management Systems (CRMs), she wanted to see what Salesforce could offer.

At first Monica was nervous about the program length, but she completed the whole certificate. “I really enjoyed it,” she reflected. “I’m very much a numbers person and I’m very interested in CRM systems in general.” She appreciated that the program had a syllabus and was self-paced.

Applying Salesforce Skills to Move Her Team Forward

As a Program Director, Monica manages connections with small businesses, startups, business leaders, construction, and real estate programs for CNM Ingenuity. With her newfound knowledge of Salesforce, Monica can now work with IT to get more access and information through Salesforce to improve her team’s performance. Her Salesforce Administrator Career Certificate from Pathstream enables her to find new ways to improve how her team works efficiently.
