Ready, set, show up
You know those memes that go, “Your best is not going to look the same each and every day, and that’s okay”? I agree with that. Do your best today — whatever level, form, or shape that may take — and notch that as a win.
A couple things also happened this year that made me realize that, sometimes, showing up is what spells all the difference.
What I’m referring to is the career recognition I got that was a result of showing up at work. Our team hit a snag in our post-production schedule one time, and I — completely unexpectedly — had an extra piece of content lying around that we ended up pinch-hitting for publication that week.
That substitute content turned out to be part of what garnered that particular recognition of mine. It was a fortuitous turn of events, needless to say, and for that I am extremely grateful.
At times, life unfolds in ways you do not at all expect.
