A quick note on confinement burn out from my personal experience.

At the moment because we are at home, in a new environment so to speak, it is difficult to discern what’s going on.

The old association with home might be the place where you rest, renew and restore yourself.

However, now, it’s likely you’re doing a fair bit of distance working too. What can happen is the ability to switch off can become diminished. What this means is that your ability to focus and concentrate in higher energy states gets stifled because you are dissipating energy all the time without even knowing.

How do I know?

Because I’ve just come back from a mini-burn out myself. This is coming from Mr Meditation & Health too. So, it’s possible that you are in a similar situation.

Here are some of the ways you can spot the signs:

- Lack of enjoyment in your downtime

- Your creativity is non-existent

- Piles of unread/un-replied to messages from people you appreciate and love or very slow replies

- Work output dropping to the bare minimum and a near cessation in creative activities

- A lack of desire to do ‘hard’ work

- Difficulty in relaxing, the inability to fully switch off.

- Lack of motivation to do things that normally renew your energy

- ‘Everything’ is a chore

- Lack of enthusiasm for your hobbies

I’ve just managed to pass through this state and I’m the guy, meditating, exercising, doing deep personal development work 3+ hours daily.

The solution?

Mine was a staycation with zero responsibility to the clock. I just played video games for 5 hours in a row, watched tv all afternoon, ate takeaway, just vege’d out in fact. Now this is not what will work for everyone. You have to identify the part of live that makes you feel highly strung and unstring it for a spell of time.

I’ve come back from that staycation FULL OF BEANS!!!

-My work is fun and exciting again

- My work is fun and exciting again ne I’d put off for 12+ Months because of my arm I broke twice in 6 months

- I’m finding all my creativity again to solve complex problems

- I have distance now from problems I was finding very grating

- My inbox is going down to 0 unread ;)

And so on….

Maybe it’s time for your own staycation, maybe its cycle camping, the world is truly your oyster there is so much waiting for us in our own backyards
