Move each other’s thinking forward

At times like this, in light of what happened in the United Kingdom this week, I realize that having a group of friends to discuss what is happening in the world, and engaging with diverse set of perspectives is crucial to develop your own thinking.

That is why we launched an experiment this week, we call it Junto Club, inspired by Founding Father Benjamin Franklin. The Junto was a club for mutual improvement where its members debated questions of morals, politics, and natural philosophy, and exchanged knowledge of business affairs.

Re: ‪#‎Brexit‬ over the last two days, I followed the news intensely, sharing my own thoughts, watching politicians and experts giving speeches, reading friend’s posts on social media, but there was something missing. And that was engagement.

Indeed the best way to improve the state of the world is actually to build alternative solutions via startups and initiatives, and many of you are already doing this.

That being said having regular philosophical conversations on how we can move the world forward and create solutions that last could inspire your own work.

The best way to implement this would be to create a physical forum. But this would require more resources and time. For this experiment, we are launching completely online. This has its own set of challenges. Its perfect for nomads!

We invite you to be part of this experiment, and stay open to suggestions and comments on how to make this work. If you are interested, please send an email to junto [at] patrickdaniel [dot] com or message on Messenger
