As Belua prepares for launch, we would like to give you an overview of our system.

First, we'll describe each team member’s current tasks, then we will briefly describe the role of the four main modules of our system : there are two matching engines, a treasury, and a core. We will conclude with our milestones for the ongoing months.

Team

Anthony Zboralski

Anthony has been working on the authorisation system, security implementation and the provision of updated design documentation for Belua’s complex systems.

Hubert Chenut

Hubert handles many of the back office tasks such as legal concerns, business communications and our accounting. He advises on some of the matching engine formulae and design.

Matthieu Foillard

Matthieu turns our designs into a working user interface. He then adjusts that interface for ease of use and clarity. Since much of our design is language agnostic, his work will form the first impression of Belua to the user.

Frances Stephens

Frances works from design documentation to create the code which powers Belua.

He advises on streamlining of that design, conceptualizes problems and offers solutions. He has spent additional effort on clearly formatted code and a descriptive naming system which makes it easier for us to expand on his work in the future.

Jim Geovedi

Jim is working on a system of language recognition which will assist us in the decoding of search requests. While he is not currently working with the team, it is our intention to apply his work to our search engine.

Leedham Te Kani

Leedham advises on strategic decisions and aids in the coordination of Belua. He prepares general research, designs communications and acts as a facilitator.

Belua’s system

Matching engine

Within Belua the Proposition matching engine is what we call the heart of a “market of attention”. It matches orders on propositions and makes the price of shares change. It serves the users who want to invest their attention on a proposition and gives them shares in return. It is also served by users who want to remove interest from a proposition, matching them with another user in order to sell shares. Every time a buy order is executed, the price per share increases, and every time a sell order is received the price per share decreases.

Sely matching engine

The SELY matching engine is in charge of negotiating between users who want to buy Int and users who want to sell Int for Fiat currency. It can be visualised as a forex wherein we exchange foreign currencies for our local currency, Int. In designing this engine we have had to focus on scalability issues without hiding the mechanism to users. Our engine differs in that Sely does not set the price of objects on the market. Users bid and see their offer rejected or accepted, creating the market price themselves.

Core

Belua’s core banking system is in charge of recording transactions and the balance of accounts such as Int, fiat money and stocks. It communicates with the other sections, tracks time and creates a system of records for auditing and financial reports.

Treasury

The treasury has two main roles : that of storing user accounts and creating the INT corresponding to their activity.

For every verified user, a maximum amount of 10 million INT is created. This amount will be created and invested into their account over a period of 4 years of activity.

Every day the user is active, the treasury creates the corresponding amount of INT and invests that in the user.

This information is stored in the treasury.
