California Workers’ Compensation Update
As of 1/1/15, California employers will be responsible for workers’ compensation coverage and wage violations committed by contracted temporary-labor supplies. Employers with fewer than 25 employees, those with fewer than 6 temporary workers, trucking companies and cable and communications employers are exempt from the law. The law is the strictest in the U.S. for protecting temporary workers. If you are not yet using BDB’s Pay-As-You-Go worker’s compensation service, ask your client services representative about it today.
