Over the next few weeks, we’ll be profiling some of our team — individuals who do a great job and help make our service what it is.

Today, we’re starting with Vir-bon. Vir-bon joined the team in June 2016 as part of our Customer Experience team. Learn a bit more about him below!

I am from

Edo State by origin, but born and raised in the beautiful city of Lagos, Nigeria.

What’s your contribution to the Paylater service?
My main concern is ensuring our customers are kept happy. I handle customer enquiries and resolve complaints as soon as possible. Making sure our users love our service is my #1 priority.

I also regularly share feedback from customers with both the product and development teams, as this forms an important part of how we make improvements or add new features to the service.

I represent the customer’s perspective to the rest of the team, so I try to build relationships with each customer to really understand what the needs are.

My favorite experience with a customer was…

A fun experience is always when we get calls from prospective users just to confirm the authenticity of our service. After initial disbelief (“such a service cannot be real in Nigeria!”), a few minutes of discussion usually leads to a loan application, just for people to satisfy up their curiosity.

When funds are then received within a few minutes, the emotion usually turns to shock — it’s always nice to be able to ‘wow’ people on a daily basis.

Paylater is changing financial services in Nigeria by….
Leveraging on technology to provide easy and instant credit to many individuals who have historically been ignored or not sufficiently served by their financial institutions, and all through the push of a button.

Remember to spread the word!

We’re proud to have Vir-bon as a member of our excellent team!
