Introducing ‘Contactless In-store Ordering’ technology to help our users dine and order food safely post lockdown

We are now entering into the restaurant’s food ordering business. Post the lockdown, the nation will require a safe & hygienic food ordering & dining experience which has prompted us to build a ‘Contactless In-store Ordering’ for restaurants and eateries.

We have innovated a unique QR that will be displayed at these restaurants. Our users will be able to scan this QR from their Paytm app to browse the menu and place instant orders, thereby avoiding the need to touch the menu card which could be unsanitized and also minimizing interaction with the servers. This food ordering experience supports each of the payment methods that include Paytm Wallet, Paytm UPI, net-banking, and cards and offers live order updates on the Paytm app.

In the first phase, we are in the process of onboarding over a lakh restaurant which will help them to ensure social distancing amidst COVID-19 fears. This, in turn, will also enhance the restaurant’s efficiency and trust for the customers to recover their business while reducing cost overheads.

Our product can also be seamlessly integrated with the existing POS to offer a hassle-free & contactless experience to both the customers and the outlet. The restaurant owners will get a customized ‘Store’ page for their brand on the Paytm app calling out this safety feature, which will increase their visibility. This technology can also be used to promote special offers, discounts, and targeted upselling based on historical consumer behavior.
