Know how to take screenshots on Paytm, but only if required

Paytm is used by millions of users from across the country every minute of every day. They use more than 200 different categories of service provided by the app, many of which involve the display of sensitive user data and information on mobile screens.

Paytm nominally restricts users from taking screenshots while using the app to reduce the chances of the data being misplaced and stolen in circumstances where someone else gets access to the users phone without his/her consent or if the phone is lost.

Therefore, it is a feature designed to increase the privacy & security of Paytm users themselves. You cannot take screenshots on certain pages/screens in order to protect privacy. However, Paytm strives to provide users the maximum amount of choice in their user experience. To override this feature when you need to, kindly follow the steps :

Step 1: Log in to your Paytm app

Step 2: Click on your profile picture on the top left corner of the homescreen

Step 3: Click on the Settings option at the bottom

Step 4: Choose Security Settings

Step 5: Click on Screen Recording

Step 6: Carefully read the instructions

Step 7: Turn the toggle button ON

Please note that you will be able to record the screen after 30 minutes of turning toggle ON. Paytm also advises that you switch off this functionality when it is not required.
