Dear community, as a part of our expansion strategy, we continue opening new markets in Asia. This time Paytomat embraces Malaysia and joins the biggest accelerator in the region, MaGIC GAP.

The program helps local and global startups to expand in Southeast Asia. It provides with necessary skills, tools and network to be invest-ready in 4 months. One of our team members, Dmitry, has already moved to Cyberjaya to present Paytomat products in ASEAN countries.

GAP program has proven to be one of the best accelerator programs multiple years in a row, thus it is a great opportunity for us to participate there.

For those who are interested in what is actually happening in a particular accelerator program, here’s a brief overview.

Week 1

Team meeting, team building.

Week 2

Storytelling Workshop by Raymond Miranda from Labora[s]tory.

  • Learned about StoryMapping for Startups. Inspired by The Hero’s Journey, which is widely used in storytelling, and employing sprint techniques from Google Venture Design Sprint process — StoryMapping humanise innovation with a simple, quick, fun, profoundly insightful tool.

Metric Setting and Milestone Workshop by Bikesh Lakhmichand from 1337 Ventures.

  • Got a better understanding of startup metrics, vanity vs clarity metrics, the AARRR Framework and Universal Metrics for all startups.

Week 3

Design Thinking for Growth Stage by Zusuff Kan from Startlah

  • Learned various design thinking methodologies available and how to choose the right one to be applied for designing products, solving social issues and improving an organisation’s process.
  • Experienced how to apply the design thinking process.
  • Launched hands on innovation challenges to work through the design thinking process from start to finish.

Investor 101 by Dr Mimi

  • Learned how to valuate your company and include it in your One Pager Investment Sheet.

Sharing Session by Matt Lee Acting Chief Investment Officer at Cradle Seed Ventures

  • Learned more about Company Valuation and Investment from Expert.

Platoon Meeting

  • Had a gathering between respective Platoon Account Manager and startups to discuss on progression and milestones.
