The content pile is vast and infinite, and you’ve got the whole weekend to decide how you want to slice it. We’re in the midst of the ever-intensifying streaming wars, and there are too many shows and movies to choose from, spread across too many video-streaming services. So each week, the PCMag features team takes turns highlighting the streaming content they’re excited to watch or think you should binge. Fire up your media-streaming device of choice, and get watching.

Black Beauty (Disney+)

If you were/are a horse girl, Disney+ has a “modern day reimagining” of Black Beauty, which follows a horse named Beauty who is taken from her family but connects with teenage girl Jo at Birtwick Stables.

Uncle Frank (Amazon Video)

It’s 1973, and Frank Bledsoe (Paul Bettany) is taking a road trip with his 18-year-old niece from New York City to South Carolina for a family member’s funeral. Frank’s boyfriend Wally makes an unexpected arrival as a show of support, but this being the south in the 1970s, Frank hasn’t exactly been open about his sexuality.

Dolly Parton’s Christmas on the Square (Netflix)

Perhaps you’ve been mainlining Hallmark Christmas movies since October, but with Thanksgiving in the rearview, it’s officially acceptable to start in on the Christmas cheer. And who’s more cheerful than Dolly Parton? In Christmas on the Square, Christine Baranski is the big-city Scrooge intent on kicking people out of their homes on Christmas Eve to make a profit on the land. Can Dolly (in angel form) save the day?

Virgin River: Season 2 (Netflix)

If you’ve ever wanted to stretch a Hallmark movie into an entire TV series, meanwhile, Virgin River is for you. In season two, small-town doctor and divorcee Mel deals with a love triangle in a picturesque, riverside locale.

folklore: the long pond studio sessions (Disney+)

Did you spend a good portion of July staring out a window while listening to Taylor Swift’s “folklore”? Well, Disney+ has a holiday treat just for you. Folklore: the long pond studio sessions was filmed in upstate New York in September. It features Swift, accompanied by co-producers Aaron Dessner and Jack Antonoff and Justin Vernon (Bon Iver), who perform the full album for the first time, revealing stories and secrets behind its songs along the way.

Run (Hulu)

Halloween may be over, but that doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy a good thriller. In Run, Sarah Paulson is a loving mother who is just a bit too intense.
