What to Stream This Weekend
A J-Lo documentary and a psychological thriller hit Netflix, while a lottery scam cashes in on Paramount+.

Spiderhead (Netflix)
Spiderhead is a sci-fi thriller starring Chris Hemsworth and Miles Teller in which Teller plays a prisoner in a state-of-the-art penitentiary undergoing pharmaceutical drug trials headed by Hemsworth. The prisoners are told the research and data collected will save lives, but not all is as it seems on this idyllic island prison.
Halftime (Netflix)
With nearly 30 years of show business experience, there’s almost nothing Jennifer Lopez can’t do. In Halftime, Lopez shares her story amid the backdrop of preparing to perform in the 2020 Super Bowl LIV Halftime show. The documentary premiered at the 2022 Tribeca Film Festival, and director Amanda Micheli uses archival footage, interviews, and a whole lot of emotion to present J-Lo in all her glory.
Jerry & Marge Go Large (Paramount+)
Based on the true story of Gerald and Marge Selbee, Bryan Cranston and Annette Bening play the titular couple who discover a loophole in their state’s lottery system that allows them to profit off the lottery and line their own pockets. Directed by David Frankel, the film also premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival.
The Worst Person in the World (Hulu)
A critical success at the 2021 Cannes Film Festival, Joachim Trier’s latest film, The Worst Person in the World, is now on Hulu. The Norwegian film follows a woman who is dealing with the ramifications of cheating on her boyfriend with a one-night-stand.
The Old Man (FX/Hulu)
In this FX series, Jeff Bridges is The Old Man, a former CIA operative on the run from assassins. He’s accompanied by his two dogs and receives a little help from his former associates. The action-thriller is based on Thomas Perry’s novel of the same name. The series is set to release weekly but the first two episodes are available now on Hulu.
Beyond Infinity: Buzz and the Journey to Lightyear (Disney+)
It’s safe to say that if you were around in the 90s, you know who Buzz Lightyear is. Ahead of the release of Lightyear on June 16, Disney and Pixar put together Beyond Infinity: Buzz and the Journey to Lightyear. The half-hour long documentary special goes into the creation of everyone’s beloved space ranger, from his humble origin as a tin toy in a Pixar short to the reimagining of the character for his first solo venture.
Players (Paramount+)
From the minds behind Netflix’s American Vandal, Players is a mockumentary following the fictional esports team Fugitive as they compete in the real-life League of Legends tournament. Follow veteran player “Creamcheese” as he struggles to keep the spotlight on himself once new player “Orgazmic” joins the team.
