The content pile is vast and infinite, and you’ve got the whole weekend to decide how you want to slice it. We’re in the midst of the ever-intensifying streaming wars, and there are too many shows and movies to choose from, spread across too many video-streaming services. So we’re making it easier for you. Each week, the PCMag features team takes turns highlighting the streaming content they’re excited to watch or think you should binge. Fire up your media-streaming device of choice, and get watching.

The Midnight Sky (Netflix)

This one might hit a little too close to home in 2020, but in The Midnight Sky, George Clooney is a scientist living in the Arctic at a time when the Earth has become inhabitable due to a mysterious global catastrophe. His mission: get to an antenna that’s strong enough to warn a group of astronauts not to return to Earth.

Bridgerton (Netflix)

You could watch Price & Prejudice for the 500th time, or you could check out Bridgerton, a period drama from Grey’s Anatomy creator Shonda Rimes. The series follows Daphne Bridgerton as she searches for a marriage based on true love. But when local gossip writer Lady Whistledown questions Daphne’s eligibility, she and area playboy the Duke of Hastings pretend to be in love to throw people off the trail. Could this pretend relationship turn into real one?

Sylvie’s Love (Amazon Video)

In Sylvie’s Love, Tessa Thompson (Sylvie) explores love, loss, and ambition as a Black woman in the late 1950s who must reconcile what society expects of her while pursuing a career in TV production and a handsome musician.

Wonder Woman 1984 (HBO Max)

If you’re looking for something to watch on Christmas Day, the first of the big blockbuster releases to head directly to a streaming service is Wonder Woman 1984. The release of the superhero sequel was pushed several times due to COVID-19, but Warner Bros. eventually decided to let it have its debut on HBO Max. But it’ll only be streaming for one month for now, so catch it while you can.

Soul (Disney+)

If Pixar is more your jam, Soul is also getting a Christmas Day streaming debut. Here, Jamie Foxx is Joe Gardner, a middle-school band teacher transported to The Great Before, a dreamland where new souls get their personalities, quirks, and interests before they go to Earth.
