What is Power?

In light of our world powers in proxy battles, is real power founded on might and violence?

Is real power founded on instilling fear?

Is real power oppressive?

Might, Violence and Fear will only create animosity. Like a House of Cards, Power built on Violence and Fear can tumble, the oppressed are no longer fearful. They welcome the impending violence, as they believe their dignity is worth more.

What is Real Power?

There is a beautiful story of Fred Rogers, creator of beloved TV Series Mr. Rogers’ Neighborhood. During his tenure on Television, someone stole his car. Once this person discovered he stole Mr. Rogers’ car, he returned it to him.

This is real power. Real Power is the respect given based on a nobility of character. Real Power is built on kindness and gentleness. Real Power is awarded to those of benefaction. Real Power is earned, not forced. Power that is irresponsible is Corruption.

Is oppression irresponsible?

The true tragedy is this not always the case. Those who are raised in the culture of war. Power is gained through might and violence. That is it is important for those of benefaction to know the language of war. One must rely on defense. True benefaction is bringing respite to the despair.
