  • Defeated the incumbent, John Yates, in the primary runoff by 11 points
  • Small businesswoman and licensed chiropractor
  • Served as Chairman of the Spalding County GOP

Analysis

This is another stretch district that should be eyed as the Democrats look to expand the map. We have a Democrat on the ballot, which is a start. We’ll have to keep an eye on the shifting demographics, but for now, this is still a safe Republican seat and a successful ousting by Karen Mathiak.
