It’s Storytelling Time!
In a little town called Malvine, there lived a special girl named Laura. She had something amazing called the "Midas touch of compassion." She got this special gift from her grandmother just before her grandma passed away. It was a tradition in their family to pass down this caring gift, and Laura was the lucky one to inherit it.
Laura became famous in her town because of this gift. When she hugged someone or they leaned on her, they instantly felt better. Their worries vanished, and they became happy and relaxed. People from all over the town would come to see her because they believed she was the heart of their community.
But one morning, something strange happened. Laura hugged a worried lady, just like she always did, but this time, it didn't work. The lady stayed worried. She left and told everyone that Laura had lost her special power. This news spread quickly, and Laura felt very sad and wanted to get her gift back.
One evening, Laura sat on her porch with her loyal maid, who had been with her since she was a child. She remembered what her grandma had said – that she would lose her gift if she did something wrong. And the only way to get it back was if the person she hurt forgave her with a pure heart.
Laura tried hard to remember if she had done something wrong, but she couldn't. She cried and said to her maid, "I can't remember any bad things I did. How can I get my grandma's gift back if I can't even remember what I did wrong? Can you help me remember?"
Her maid, who was very loyal and caring, nodded and gave Laura hope.
The next day, they sat down together, and Laura tried to remember where they used to go before she lost her gift. Slowly, Laura remembered they used to visit the Everest Garden on certain days and a nearby market. Laura couldn't recall anything bad happening during those times.
The maid encouraged her to remember more. Laura remembered picking cherries and apples in the garden without any problems. Then, they went to the crowded market, and Laura started to remember. She remembered how crowded it was and how annoyed she felt because people were in her way. Laura said, "Yes, and I remember asking why these people weren't clearing my way. You told me they had come from far away to buy things."
As Laura continued to recall, she remembered waiting in a long line at a clothes shop. Everyone knew her, and they were happy to see her. She stood in line under the hot sun. The maid nodded, and Laura continued, saying, "While you were waiting on the other side of the path, a girl came up to me crying, saying her brother was lost in the crowded market. You know what I did? I told her to visit me at my home because it wasn't the right time." The girl left, disappointed, and disappeared into the crowd.
The maid asked, "Do you now realize your mistake?" Laura replied with deep sadness, "Yes, I do. But where can I find her?" The maid reassured her, "Our town isn't that big, so we can start looking for her this evening. We won't stop until you find that girl, make up for your mistake, and ask for her forgiveness."
That evening, Laura and her maid began their journey, hoping to find the girl. This small act taught Laura a big lesson: not to add to others' pain and to do whatever it takes to help others. They visited every place in town to find that girl. The next day, Laura returned to the crowded market, looking for the girl in every shop and on every street.
Late at night, she finally found her in a shop where two little girls and a boy were eating something. Laura easily recognized the girl and apologized for her mistake. The sweet little girl forgave her and felt comforted when she leaned on Laura's shoulder.
Laura and her maid decided to help the girl and her brother. They discovered that the girl was running a small business, pressing clothes for the townspeople. Laura was happy to see her doing well and with a smile on her face.
After about five days, they returned to their small house with happy smiles. Laura had successfully regained her gift of compassion.
Later, Laura realized that her power to help others was not just about making them happy or unburdened. It was also about being emotionally supportive. Laura started to be there for people, saying kind words, and she saw how it made a big difference in their lives.
She lived happily with her maid, continuing to help others and making the town a better place. The entire town cherished her throughout her life because of her kindness and compassion. Laura's story taught everyone that a little act of kindness could go a long way in making the world a better place.
